About Chestnut Grove Kindergarten Clacton-on-Sea

Chestnut Grove Kindergarten opened 1st April 2010 and is located next to the Clacton Coastal Academy on Pathfields Road.

Director and Nursery Principal Denise Hawke has worked within child care for over 25 years, using that experience she has managed to put together a second to none team of highly skilled, focused and dedicated child care staff.

The Kindergarten has gone from strength to strength and currently demand for places is very high.

Acorns

Acorns is our 0-2 year old room. Megan is our N.V.Q Level 3 room leader and along with her room assistants offer a home from home experience where cuddles and care is the order of the day. A wide variety of activities such as heuristic play, treasure baskets and sensory toys is on offer to help stimulate and excite the children and enable them to flourish in a safe and inspiring environment.

Conkers

Conkers room is our 2-3 year old room. Hanna and Abby along with their team of dedicated staff have worked extremely hard to create a safe and stimulating environment. Thought provoking activities such as messy play, art and craft and lots of singing, dancing and musical instruments allow the children to explore and question the world around them. Conkers has direct access to our garden and enjoy a range of activities in all weathers.

Willows

Willows is our rising 3’s room and is run by Emma and Elaine who have level 3 qualifications and many years of experience. Willows offer activities such as role play, where the children can dress up and use their imaginations and senses and circle time where the children sit down and learn about the days of the week and have stories. Hanna and her team have worked hard to keep the room new and fresh creating a sense of excitement and awe in the children.

Hollies

Hollies is a rising 3 year old room and is run by Sarah who is a highly experienced practitioner. Sarah and her team offer activities such as reading, mark making, independence with dressing, personal hygiene and developing listening and communication skills. Outdoor play is a big part of the day, taking our activities into the garden helps us develop in a multi-sensory environment. The team work in partnership with local schools to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible for the children.

Oaks

Mighty Oak’s is our 3-4 year old room and is run by Lisa who is N.V.Q level 3 qualified. Lisa and her highly motivated team are helping to prepare the children for school and offer many activities to support their transition. Role play, persona dolls and learning Makaton are a few of the activities on offer and the team work closely with parents/carers and local schools helping the children with their transition to school.

The Garden

This area has been recently updated and boasts a growing area with a mud kitchen, sand pit and messy play area, climbing frame and slide, undercover area as well as a wide range of activities for your children to engage in. The garden area also boasts artificial grass so that the children can spend time in the garden in all weathers.
